Town clock in St Peters church bell tower, Thetford.
Iron face painted blue with glass panels (some discolouration), roman numerals with black hour and minute hands.
The present building was constructed in the 14th century, although it was enlarged in the 15th century with the addition of flanking chancel chapels and a north aisle. The west tower was rebuilt in 1789, apparently to a new design and beard a date stone on the west face. The clock appears contemporary with the construction of the tower. The present church is constructed of flint and flushwork with ashlar dressings.
