Counter Relief wood carving of a donkey on display in the Visitor's Center of the LBJ State Park. There is no entrance fee into the park. The park is open every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The donkey became the symbol of the Democratic Party during Andrew Jackson's campaign for the presidency in 1828. Jackson's nickname was "Old Hickory".

The donkey carving is made of walnut and was carved by Don Brownlee. He gifted the carving to LBJ.
