Located within Kinnear Park and near a tennis court is a flora interpretive display that highlights the ever-changing plants and trees that have frequented this area within Seattle over the decades. The display describes how native fir trees were logged out in the middle-to-late 1800s and replaced with deciduous trees and plants. These trees and plants have taken over the park and have made it nearly impossible for native trees to grow. Mudslides also make it difficult on the native tree and plant species without human intervention to repair and help replant new species.
