FR La chapelle est située à proximité d'une forêt de chênes et de pins d'Alep qui domine la route de Sisteron et la vallée de la Durance

D'après la légende, Anne, une jeune orpheline, faisait paître ses moutons sur le coteau dominant l'actuel "Logis d'Anne". Elle vivait en paix dans une cabane. Un jour elle remarqua que ses brebis se rangeaient en cercle et demeuraient immobiles, la même scène se répéta le lendemain au même endroit, et le troisième jour une des brebis gratta le sol en bêlant.
En creusant, la jeune bergère découvrit une petite statue en bois représentant la Vierge et décida de conserver ce trésor dans sa cabane. A quelque temps de là vint à passer un Frère-Pontife, un de ceux qui faisaient passer la Durance aux voyageurs près de la chapelle Sainte-Madeleine. Il entendit des voix harmonieuses, et vit défiler devant lui des vierges somptueusement vêtues accompagnées d'une femme à la beauté éblouissante. Elles venaient chercher la petite bergère appelée à découvrir les clartés célestes.
Après la disparition de ce cortège, le frère découvrit le corps d'Anne dans sa cabane. Au coucher du soleil retentit l'Alléluia et les habitants de Jouques aperçurent de grandes lueurs sur le plateau. Ils construisirent une chapelle et conservèrent les fleurs déposées par la petite bergère devant la statue de la Vierge. Celles-ci restèrent fraîches plusieurs années et ne se flétrirent qu'au moment où la chapelle fut détruite pendants les guerres de religion.

Construite au XIIe siècle, et plusieurs fois remaniée, la chapelle est orientée Est-ouest, l'ensemble a la forme d'une croix latine légèrement dissymétrique ; elle comporte une partie centrale voûtée se prolongeant à l'est par une abside. Le bras sud du transept est une chapelle carrée recouverte par le logement de l'ermite auquel on accède par un escalier intérieur, au nord une autre chapelle carrée sans étage. Le mur pignon construit en avant du transept est surmonté d'un clocher arcade dans lequel a pris place une nouvelle cloche en 1985

According to legend, Anne, a young orphan, grazed her sheep on the hillside overlooking the current "Logis d'Anne". She lived in peace in a cabin. One day she noticed that her sheep were in a circle and remained motionless, the same scene was repeated the next day in the same place, and on the third day one of the sheep scratched the ground, bleating.
In digging, the young shepherdess discovered a small wooden statue representing the Virgin and decided to keep this treasure in her hut. Some time later a Brother Pontiff passed, one of those who passed the Durance to travelers near the Sainte-Madeleine Chapel. He heard harmonious voices, and saw before him lavishly dressed virgins accompanied by a woman of dazzling beauty. They came to fetch the little shepherdess called to discover the celestial light.
After the disappearance of this procession, the brother discovered Anne's body in his cabin. At sunset the Hallelujah rang out, and the inhabitants of Jouques saw great gleams on the plateau. They built a chapel and kept the flowers laid by the little shepherdess in front of the statue of the Virgin. These remained fresh several years and did not wither until the chapel was destroyed during the wars of religion.

Built in the twelfth century, and several times remodeled, the chapel is oriented East-West, the whole has the form of a slightly asymmetrical Latin cross; It has a vaulted central part extending to the east by an apse. The south arm of the transept is a square chapel covered by the hermit's dwelling which is accessed by an internal staircase, to the north another square chapel without a floor. The gable wall built in front of the transept is surmounted by a bell-tower arch in which took place a new bell in 1985
