I found this to be a challenging hike from the parking lot of the Sanctuaire Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. To challenge your footing, there are many rounded rocks embedded in the trail. There are interesting spots along the trail (geocaches included) but the hiker cannot see the summit or its cross until the hike is nearly complete. There are no benches or tables at the summit but the large shelter should provide space for your picnic. The hike is well over a mile in each direction so leave yourself plenty of time.
