This bronze statue of Andrew Jackson occupies a place of honor in a landscaped yet neglected brick and fountain Plaza on the west side of the Old Jackson City Hall building in downtown Jackson, Mississippi.
The statue is placed on a plinth of concrete with a bronze plaque affixed to it as follows:
"ANDREW JACKSON
THE CITY OF JACKSON WAS NAMED IN HONOR OF ANDREW JACKSON
SOLDIER, STATESMAN, AND 7TH PRESIDENT
OF THE UNITED STATES
