When I was in Tenterfield in April 2016 it had the "Tanglewood"/Christmas Lodge sign out, with 'Christmas treasures' and craft supplies advertised.
From the Harold Curry real estate website, accessed 16 August, 2017, the photos shown were still of the "Christmas Lodge", but were giving the prospective buyer a chance to buy a piece of Masonic History: (

"Tenterfield's Masonic Lodge"
"This Federation Free Classical piece of Tenterfield's history is noted as a key element in contributing to the streetscape. Circa 1890, this original meeting hall was long utilised as the meeting place for the Masons. Still know as the Masonic Lodge, this long narrow single storey building stretches back from the street and is typical of Masonic Lodges around the state. The ornate rendered street façade conceals the roof behind and its brick construction. Behind the entry porch, the building widens and has two large main rooms plus an amenities block and kitchen. Features include detailed render to pilasters, ball finials, sills and cornices, rough cast panels and triangular and curved pediments. This is your opportunity to purchase and own a real piece of Tenterfield's History."
* The property is just over 2,000 m²
* At that time they had a photo of the brick building from the rear of the block, which was brown-dried grass.
The 'Travel Guide' website of Traveller also mentions this ex-Masons building under the heading "Rouse Street", at: (

* That it is opposite the Criterion Hotel (established 1872).
"On the other side of the road is the Masonic Lodge (1877). It was initially headed by Edward Whereat who, in 1842, stood down from the safe seat of Tenterfield so that Henry Parkes could re-enter politics."
