This is an electric transformer building once used by Oklahoma Gas and Electric Company, to distribute electricity to the surrounding neighborhoods. The building was decommissioned in 1986 and sold to a private individual. Today, it is occupied by Cardinal Yoga, who offer classes and sessions daily at this location. An outside garden area has been added to the north of the building.
The building was constructed in 1911. It is 45 x 30 ft. with a flat roof. The floor and roof are concrete, with brick walls. The building is grounded by a concrete water table which extends one-quarter of the way up the walls to just under the windows.
The facade which faces west has five bays. The double metal entrance doors in Bay 4 have six window lites, and a 12-pane transom. In Bays 3 and 5 window units consist of metal framed units with 25 lites. An operable pivoted portion of 6 panes opens at the center.
On the upper wall of Bays 2 - 5 is a row of square openings beneath rows of corbelled brick. In each opening is a large round projecting insulator. On the south wall, there are three wall openings with metal louvers, and a row of 17 cable extensions. The north elevation has 3 bays, and at the northeast corner, a metal ladder leading to the roof. All electrical equipment has been removed from the interior which now houses the yoga studio.
