The Shoshone Project: History Timeline is in the Bever Homestead Cabin as one of the outside displays. The Homesteader Museum is at the corner of 1st Street and Clark Street, just off Highway 14A.

Heart Mountain Division: 1946
On February 10, 1904, the Secretary of the Interior reserved $2,250,000 for the construction of the Shoshone Project to utilize the waters of the Shoshone River for irrigation.
Homestead acreage in the four Shoshone Project Divisions were awarded by lottery. Today the project covers 148,000 acres and is still a highly productive agricultural area with primary crops of alfalfa hay, sugar beets, barley and specialty crops.
