In 2014 a Korean War plaque was added to the cairn, and in 2016 a Vietnam War plaque was added with an additional four names for the Korean War. These two plaques were sponsored by the Cowley Pioneer Museum/History Center. There is also a WWII plaque undated though it is there for some time, most likely added in the mid 1940s.
The memorial cairn is four sided and made of natural stone. It sits on a massive concrete plinth about 12 inches thick. There is a concrete walkway that leads to the memorial, you can enter from the street side. There is nearby a very large tree and a nice lawn area.
There are 44 names listed on the Vietnam plaque, 27 names are listed on the Korean War plaque including the four on the Vietnam plaque and 136 names are listed on the WWII plaque.
The WWII plaque was sponsored by the Cowley Chapter of American War Mothers.
