Jasper, Son of
John & J.A. Jared,
Born Sept. 7, 1890,
Died June 27, 1914.

Although he sleeps his
memory doth live,
And cheering comfort to
his mourners give;
He followed virtue as his
truest guide,
Live as a Christian -- as a
Christian died.

Note the colloquial spelling for "Merrimac", which is no longer with us, and which has vanished from modern maps. It wasn't too far from here, to the northeast.
