About 1101, Henri I, Count of Eu, diverted the course of the Bresle. The harbor is overwhelming and this error causes the port to lose its supremacy over the port of Dieppe.

In 1460, the Count of Eu, Charles of Artois, dug the canal between Eu and Le Tréport, which again began flowing around 1483. This one is used for two hundred years. In 1513 and 1545, Francis I of Cleves, Count of Eu dug a basin and built piers, quickly invaded by the pebbles.

Around 1770, the Duke of Penthièvre removed the pebbles that invaded the port and ordered the construction of the hunting lock to avoid the silting up of the harbor, which was carried out in 1776 by the engineer Lamblardie. A waterway between Eu and Le Tréport has begun, and remains unfinished.

Under Louis-Philippe, the digging and enlargement of the channel improved the port, and the course of the Bresle was hollowed out. The canal served to connect Le Tréport to Eu for commercial purposes, thanks to a towpath.

As early as 1869 the port had a lifeboat of English origin which was supplemented when the Central Rescue Society of the shipwrecked a station there in 1884.

In 1980, the Tréport Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) became the concessionaire of the departmental port of Tréport. In March 2007, the Abbeville and Tréport CCIs merged and the port concession was transferred to the new Littoral Normand Picard CCI.

Today, the port of Tréport has 60 fishing units distributed between Boulogne and Dieppe.

Vers 1101, Henri 1er, comte d'Eu, détourne le cours de la Bresle. Le port s'ensable et cette erreur fait perdre au port sa suprématie sur le port de Dieppe.

En 1460, le comte d'Eu, Charles d'Artois, fait creuser le canal entre Eu et Le Tréport, qui s’ensabla à nouveau vers 1483. Celui-ci est utilisé pendant deux cents ans. En 1513 et 1545, François 1er de Clèves, comte d'Eu fait creuser un bassin et bâtir des jetées, rapidement envahies par les galets.

Vers 1770, le duc de Penthièvre fait enlever les galets qui envahissent le port et ordonne la construction de l'écluse de chasse pour éviter l’envasement du port, qui est réalisée en 1776 par l'ingénieur Lamblardie. Une voie navigable entre Eu et Le Tréport est commencée, et reste inachevée.

Sous Louis-Philippe, le creusement et l'agrandissement du chenal améliorent le port, et le cours de la Bresle est creusé. Le canal servait à relier Le Tréport à Eu a des fins commerciales, grâce à un chemin de halage.

Dès 1869, le port dispose d'un canot de sauvetage d'origine anglaise qui est suppléé lorsque la Société centrale de sauvetage des naufragés y implante une station en 1884.

En 1980 la CCI (chambre de commerce et d'industrie) du Tréport est devenue concessionnaire du port Départemental du Tréport. En mars 2007, les CCI d'Abbeville et du Tréport ont fusionné et la concession du port est transférée à la nouvelle CCI Littoral Normand-Picard.

Aujourd’hui le port du Tréport compte 60 unités de pêches réparties entre Boulogne et Dieppe.
