In St. Johnsbury, within the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, is a display of rocks and minerals.

The museum is on Main Street, about a block off U.S. 2. Entering U.S. 2 from the east, turn south onto Railroad Street (still Route 2) to Eastern Ave., turn right and travel on Eastern Ave. to the end, then turn right onto Main Street and drive a short distance to the museum on the right.

The museum is in a Richardsonian style building. The U-shaped building has a turret at one corner. The roof is peaked.

After paying the admission, go up to the second floor at the south end to the rock and mineral displays. There are several wood and glass cases. Some cases have example types of rocks and crystals. One case has examples of marble found in the state. Another map has a map of the geology of the bedrock in Vermont. In other cases are dinosaur fossils.

This museum is well worth the stop for just for the rocks and fossils. But, do see the other exhibits here, as well.
