Italian sculptor Sauro Cavallini created this 9' high sculpture of two ballet dancers performing the ballet move known in English by the French term Pas De Deux in 1982. It involves two dancers, usually one male and one female, performing ballet steps side-by side.
Cavallini has a widely recognized style of minimizing sculptures of people down to their bare essential characteristics. One dancer, likely male, has both feet on the ground and its right arm in pointing into the air and its left arm pointing horizontally back. The other dancer, likely female, is leaping forward with both feet off the ground and likewise has its right arm pointing into the air amd and its left arm pointing horizontally back. Both have their heads leaning backwards.
A sign adjacent to the sculpture is inscribed:
