The Brannen Lake campground is west of Nanaimo on the north side of Biggs Road. In 2017, the basic daily fee is $30 for two people on an un-serviced lot. A pull-through lot with electricity, water and sewer will cost $38 for two people.
Free wi-fi was well used throughout the campground. There were many "quiet" animals camping with their humans. The bathrooms near the main entrance have hot and cold running water. Showers there cost $1. There are some items to purchase at the office. Near the office, there is also a good collection of sheltered picnic tables.
Most campsites are close to other campsites. Many of the campers seem to be regular guests, knowing many of the other campers.
The beach at Brannen Lake is distant from the campsites but it is on campground property. Expect to drive to the water for swimming or fishing.
