DE: Der 37,5 m hohe Turm steht ca. 120 m südöstlich des Gipfels und erlaubt einen weiten Blick in das Umland. Die Aussicht reicht im Norden bis zum Hunsrück, im Westen bis in den Saargau und darüber hinaus bis zum französischen Kernkraftwerk Cattenom und im Süden bis nach Saarbrücken. Bei sehr klarem Wetter ist ein Blick bis zu den Vogesen möglich.
Die vormals am Turm selbst befestigten Antennen wurden bei den Umbauarbeiten auf eine Stahlkonstruktion auf der Turmspitze verlegt, wodurch der Turm eine Gesamthöhe von 52 m erreicht.
Auf dem Schaumbergturm befinden sich Sendeanlagen verschiedener Funkdienste (z. B. Rundfunk, Amateurfunk, BOS). Im Rundfunkbereich wurde der Standort dabei bis Dezember 2007 als regional bedeutender analoger Fernsehfüllsender benutzt.
Vom Schaumberg aus wurde ab dem 1. Mai 1956 ein UKW-Sender betrieben. Er hatte 3 kW Senderausgangsleistung. Mit seiner ERP von 10 kW konnten 75 % der Fläche des Saarlandes versorgt werden.

EN: The 37.5 m high tower is about 120 m southeast of the summit and allows a wide view into the surrounding area. The view extends to the north to the Hunsrück, in the west to the Saargau and beyond to the French nuclear power station Cattenom and in the south to Saarbrücken. In very clear weather, a view to the Vosges is possible.
The antennas, which had previously been fixed to the tower itself, were laid on a steel structure on the tower spire during reconstruction work, resulting in an overall height of 52 m.
On the Schaumbergturm are broadcasting stations of various radio services (eg radio, amateursunk, BOS). In the radio area, the location was used by December 2007 as a regionally significant analogue TV broadcasting station.
From the Schaumberg, an FM transmitter was operated from 1 May 1956. It had 3 kW transmitter output. With its ERP of 10 kW, 75% of the area of the Saarland could be supplied.
