It is just under 23 km from Central Railway Station (in the heart of Sydney). The original single railway was duplicated in 1909, with an island platform then replacing the single one on the south side of the line.

So Platform #1, on the northern side of the island is for trains heading to Warrawee, Chatswood and Central; while Platform #2 on the southern side is for trains (and passengers) heading to Waitara and Hornsby - where you would need to change trains if then heading south towards Strathfield. Some of the trains going to Hornsby do go a few more stations north; but you have to CHECK.

While the Wikipedia article rightly calls the services provided here by RailCorp as the "Sydney Trains T1 North Shore Line", the platform is NOT accessible by wheelchairs! [And probably a realistic Terrain 2 rating applies to multitude of narrow steps.]

The "Sydney Trains" website: (visit link) gives a true account of services provided, or NOT.

The above coordinates take you to the top of the STAIRS, so this Waymark is achievable if you are wheelchair bound v the "You Are Here" Waymark on the platform would NOT be.

Visited: 4 am, Saturday morning, 9 April, 2016 - while coming down to Sydney for my 40 year High School Class Reunion later that day.
While I grew up about 3 kilometres from here, in my teens I rarely caught a train from here, but rather the bus service from Fox Valley took us to the Warrawee station from 1971-73.
