A Catholic cemetery open to the deceased of all denominations, Notre-Dame-des-Neiges is the largest cemetery in Canada. It has been recognized as a national historic site of Canada since 1999.

Built in 1855, the chapel of the Resurrection is the first chapel of the cemetery, the three others having been built in 1976.
