This plaque is located in a garden at the front of Bothwell Town Square Park in Bothwell, Ontario. The plaque is dedicated to the 125th Anniversary of Bothwell's founding. Bothwell was established by George Brown, creator of the Toronto Globe and one of the key Fathers of Confederation for Canada. The Bothwell grew in 1861 when oil was discovered nearby and became a an official town in 1866.
