Das Haus der Natur und Waldinformationszentrum ist ein kleines naturkundliches Museum mit pädagogischen Angeboten insbesondere für Kinder. Es liegt am Rand vom Kottenforst auf dem Bonner Venusberg am - besonders bei Kindern - beliebten Ausflugsziel Waldau. Das Haus der Natur wurde Ende der 1980er Jahre in einem alten Fachwerkhaus eingerichtet, 2017-2019 wurde es komplett saniert und erweitert, seitdem haben die Gebäude eine Holzfassade bekommen.

In der Dauerausstellung wird den kleinen und großen Besuchern der Kottenforst mit seinen Bewohnern nähergebracht und aufgezeigt, wie Mensch und Natur miteinander leben können. Durch Mitmach- und Ausprobierstationen wird dabei insbesondere das Interesse der Kinder geweckt. Daneben gibt es noch Wechselausstellungen zu naturbezogenen Themen. Der Eintritt ist frei.

Neben dem Museum bietet das Haus der Natur Führungen durch den Wald für Kindergärten, Schulklassen und andere Gruppen von Kindern oder Jugendlichen an. Direkt neben dem Gebäude unterhält das Haus einen Bauerngarten, in dem gezeigt wird, wie ökologische und naturnahe Landwirtschaft funktioniert.

The "Haus der Natur" (i.e. House of Nature) and Forest Information Center is a small nature museum with educational offers especially for children. It is located on the edge of the forest Kottenforst on the mountain Venusberg at the - especially with children - popular excursion destination Waldau. The house of nature was set up in an old half-timbered house at the end of the 1980s, it was completely renovated and expanded in 2017-2019, and the buildings have had a wooden facade since then.

In the permanent exhibition, the small and big visitors are presented with the Kottenforst and its inhabitants, and it shows how humans and nature can live together. Through participation and testing stations the interest of the kids is awakened. There are also temporary exhibitions on nature-related topics. The entrance is free of charge.

In addition to the museum, the house offers guided tours through the forest for kindergartens, school classes and other groups of children or youths. Directly next to the building, the house maintains a farmers' garden, showing how ecological and natural agriculture works.
