The memorial gates can be seen from the footpath. The gates memorialise Private J. A. Higgs who died on 12th April 1945 while a Prisoner of War.

The Australian War Memorial records that Jesse Albert Higgs served with the 2/10 Field Ambulance during the Second World War & died in Borneo.
