The church was constructed in 1911. Beside it is a tree shaded area with a couple of shrines and this statue. Although not labeled, the statue is unmistakably that of St. Francis. A bluebird rests on his arm, a Cardinal is at his feet and another, unidentifiable, creature is on his shoulder. He wears the traditional brown robe and rope belt of the Franciscan order.
