The Byron Veterans Memorial is black granite with the names of Bryon military veterans chiseled into four panels. They are arranged in a semi circle below the statue of Bryon Sessions.
In front of the veteran memorial is a small plaque inscribed:
Dedicated to all Byron veterans
who valiantly served our nation in war and peace.
Bryon Memorial Park was 14 years in the making. It also features a concrete stepped platform with an impressive statue of Byron Sessions, one of the area’s principal pioneers after whom the town is named. Since oil was a primary industry at one corner of the park was placed a replica oil-pumping unit. The park is very well maintained with lush lawn areas, trees and other plantings, concrete walkways and several dedicated benches.
