This is THE park in the little town of Lavina, the one real place for picnicking and lazing about under the welcoming shade of a tree.

In the 100 block on the east side of Main Street, the park fills about three quarters of the block, with a single building to the north, possibly the 1960 post office, occupying the remainder of the block. The entrance is framed by a steel tube arch containing the words Lavina Park and supported by two columns of local fieldstone. Directly in from the entrance is a picnic pavilion with a couple of tables inside.

The rest of the park is simply an open grassed area with trees, both large and small, save for a single bell hung about 10 feet off the ground on a tower made of welded round steel tubing. Possibly an old school bell or a fire bell from a fire hall long gone?
