Direkt vor dem Hauptportal des Bonner Münsters auf dem Münsterplatz steht der Bonner Pranger. Dabei handelt es sich um eine 2,70 Meter hohe und 0,5 Meter dicke Säule aus rotem römischem Sandstein mit einem rechteckigen Sockel und einer Kugel an der Spitze der Säule.

Der Pranger stammt aus dem 12. - 13. Jahrhundert. Er wurde während des Mittelalters bis in die Neuzeit zur Bestrafung und Demütigung von Übeltätern geringerer Straftaten wie Diebstahl benutzt. Dazu wurde die Person teilweise über mehrere Tage an den Pranger gekettet und dann von den Bonner Bürgern verspottet und mit Lebensmitteln beworfen. Die Verankerungen der Ketten sind noch an der Säule zu sehen. Auspeitschungen oder gar Hinrichtungen fanden am Bonner Pranger nicht statt.
Directly in front of the main portal of the Münster of Bonn on the plaza Münsterplatz stands the pillory "Bonner Pranger". This is a 2.70 meters high and 0.5 meter thick column of red Roman sandstone with a rectangular base and a ball at the top of the column.

The pillory dates from the 12th - 13th century. During the Middle Ages until the modern age, it was used to punish and humiliate criminals of minor crimes such as theft. For this purpose, the person was chained to the pillory often for several days and then mocked by the citizens of Bonn and lapidated with food. The anchors of the chains can still be seen on the column. Whippings or even executions did not take place at the pillory of Bonn.
