Here you are standing at the highest point of Osnabrück. Part of this hill is a still active quarry, but it is well fenced off and the other part is open to tourism and declared a recreational area. There are no opening and closing times, so you can come here at night and admire all the lights as they unfold in front of you. At daytime there are many tourists here, but at night it is totally different, quiet and peaceful. It makes me feel proud and humble at the same time to watch the lights and the busy yet sleepy city. It is more interesting to watch winter when it gets dark early so there is more traffic and all the christmas decorations, but also a warm summer night up here can be very pleasant.
