Simple memorial carved into a granite boulder. The monument is dedicated to all women abused or killed by men.
The inscription reads:
To Honour And To Grieve
All Women
Abused and Murdered By Men
Envision A World Without Violence
Where Women Are Respected
And
Free
The monument was erected in 1992, a year after the death of Ottawa lawyer Patricia Allen, who was murdered by her estranged husband in the Minto Park area.
Each of the stones at the base of the monument bears the name of a murdered Ottawa woman.
