At the Swans Creek Crossing camp site in the Kerewong State Forest, in the Mid North Coast, on the southern corner of the fenced off "Recreation Area" - NO CAMPING ZONE, is a large sandstone boulder (and a smaller rock abutted to it). The bigger boulder has a cast bronze commemorative plaque for the brothers. It reads:

"NEILSON RECREATION AREA [NSW Forestry logo]

"This area is dedicated to the memory of Colin and Robert 'Boney' Neilson.
"Between them, the Neilson brothers worked a total of 67 years
'On the Forestry' in the Kendall area.
"They were both gentlemen and bushmen."

By the logo on the bronze plaque, it has been officially placed there by the NSW Forestry Commission. By the freshness of the bronze, probably in the last five years - post 2010. The "Hardwoods Division" Wauchope Office may have some personal anecdotes on this memorial. They are situated at: 4 Maher St, Wauchope NSW 2446; and Phone: (02) 6585 3744.

While this Free-Camping area may be a bit hard to get to in low suspension 2wds, or those cars with low-profile tyres, it is a very popular camping and recreation area; and can handle about x 40 camp sites.

No further information immediately found from 'the Web'. So it is truly lovely that this is one way that their lives could be remembered!

Information on the Free-Camping can be found at "Find a Camp": (visit link) ; and a short video of the Swans Crossing camping area can be seen at: (visit link) , tho it doesn't show the commemorative plaque/boulder at all.
