This small polished black granite headstone is located in the Olathe Memorial Cemetery. The headstone is basically a cut block with and angled surface for the inscription. There is a picture of a cowboy in full garb waving his hat. The headstone reads:

"Jesse Guy Chipman, 88, Olathe, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Overland Park Regional Hospital in Overland Park. He was born Nov. 8, 1911, in Celina, Texas. His mother died shortly after his birth, and he was adopted by her sister and brother-in-law, Ada C. (Cripps) Chipman and Edward Chipman. He graduated from North Texas State Teachers College and later received a law degree. He married Patricia Hall in 1943. He was a World War II veteran whose duties included flight training and entertaining troops. He also pursued industrial engineering, analysis and psychology; he also was a lecturere and columnist, artist, cartoonist and entertainer, whose stage act included horseback riding and rope twirling. Later, his career included small-town business seminars and advertising sales. He had lived the past 2 1/2 years at Johnson County Nursing Center, Olathe, to be close to his daughter and her family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; four brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Deanna L. Chipman Dennis; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The graveside service was Friday at the Olathe Memorial Cemetery in Olathe. Arrangements were by the W.L. Frye and Son Funeral Home, Olathe."
