"LOWERY, VIOLA, "Lucille", loving mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly March 1, 2010, at her home in Orlando, FL. She was 76 years young, and was vibrant and active until she passed. Lucille was born August 6, 1933, in Waverly, KS, the daughter of the late Cecil and Pearl Efinger. She spent her childhood in this small town, becoming independent at an early age. She fondly retold her experiences of working in the local drug store, after school and on weekends, beginning at the age of 13. At 15, she accomplished her dream of moving to California. While in California she worked until marrying. She moved to Alabama where she started her family, attended Auburn University and worked to support her husband who graduated from Auburn. Her family eventually settled in Orlando, where she began the most satisfying and important job of her life as a mother and homemaker, raising her three children to be as independent as she. She was a former member at Pine Castle United Methodist Church, bridge player and bowler. In retirement, she enjoyed painting, quilting, nature and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Efinger; and her sister, Dorothy Efinger. Lucille is survived by her children, Janet (Paul) Proly, Terry Lowery, and Mike (Jo Ann) Lowery. She is also survived by her brother, Fred (Mary Lou) Efinger; her grandchildren Alex, Austin, Katy Proly, Michelle, Stephen, Brian Lowery; and her great-grandchildren, Kaleb Lowery, Layeden Leavitt, and Stephen Lowery Jr.; as well as cousins, neices and nephews.
"Mom, may you have peace in knowing that you will always be loved and never ever forgotten. Fear no evil, set your spirit free, and may you always rest in peace. We love you! Terry, Mike, Janet and extended family."
