The Green Plaques Project, an initiative of the Berry and District Historical Society, was officially launched on Thursday, June 29 2017.

An official unveiling was held at the Berry Museum. Eleven historical buildings in Berry now have circular, bronze green plaques installed. Each plaque features a brief summary of the building’s history.

The plaque is worded:

The Post & Telegraph Office

This building was opened in 1886. It was designed by colonial architect James Barnet and built by local builder W.A. Isley on land donated by David Berry.
