The Green Plaques Project, an initiative of the Berry and District Historical Society, was officially launched on Thursday, June 29 2017.

An official unveiling was held at the Berry Museum. Eleven historical buildings in Berry now have circular, bronze green plaques installed. Each plaque features a brief summary of the building’s history.

The plaque is worded:

The Old Council Chambers

The Berry Municipal Council Chambers were built in 1912 and used by the council until 1942. Since then the building has been used by many community organisations, including Berry Show Society.
