FR Au sud du hameau de Villedieu qui borde la Durance à l'ouest du plateau de Valensole, la chapelle Sainte-Madeleine se dresse depuis le XIème siècle. Un petit cimetière est accolé à cet édifice roman particulièrement ancien. La maçonnerie de ses murs incorpore des galets de la Durance. Une inscription est gravée sur le linteau de la baie sud-est, et consiste en les lettres "VGO" (ou UGO). Il s'agit sans doute de la signature d'un artisan, car on retrouve les mêmes initiales sur d'autres édifices, à Gréoux-les-Bains, Apt et dans la Provence rhodanienne.

L'intérieur restauré a été aménagé de manière à mettre en valeur la belle maçonnerie. Les baies internes ont été magnifiquement décorées de fresques contemporaines, réalisées par le peintre Claude Roux. L'édifice est préservé par une association, "Les chemins de Villedieu", qui y organise des activités comme des messes, des visites et des expositions de peinture.
EN To the south of the hamlet of Villedieu, which borders the Durance to the west of the Valensole plateau, the Sainte-Madeleine chapel dates from the 11th century. A small cemetery is attached to this particularly old Romanesque building. The masonry of its walls incorporates pebbles of the Durance. An inscription is inscribed on the lintel of the south-east bay, and consists of the letters "VGO" (or UGO). This is undoubtedly the signature of a craftsman, because we find the same initials on other buildings, in Gréoux-les-Bains, Apt and in Rhone-Alpes.
The restored interior has been laid out to highlight the beautiful masonry. The internal bays have been beautifully decorated with contemporary frescoes, realized by the painter Claude Roux. The building is preserved by an association, "Les chemins de Villedieu", which organizes activities such as masses, visits and exhibitions of paintings.
