The building at 126-128 E. Grand is a two-story red brick buildling currently occupied by the Tonkawa News newspaper office, and Tonkawa Mercantile, an antique store.
The building has three bays, separated by brick pilasters. The center bay contains only the access door to the second level, and has the stone block at the top. The strange thing bout the date block is that the "9" is set in reverse, and apparently no one thought it necessary to make the correction in the past 117 years. It reads "1900" and has the Masonic Square and Compasses emblem.
The storefront at 126 E. Grand, occupied by the newspaper office, has a single aluminum and glass entry door, flanked by sidelights, and display windows and covered by a metal awning. The storefront at 128 E. Grand, occupied by the antique store has a double door entry, recessed with a tile entry floor. Display windows flank this entry. The clerestory has been covered by siding.
Four window units on the upper level facing Grand each have two one-over-one windows with a tri-pane arched fanlight. Windows on the east side of the upper level are singles with fixed transoms above. All windows have a keystone.
Beneath the roofline is an elaborate embellishment with row upon row of brick dentil work and projected and inset bricks.
