Situé en plein air au bord du Verdon, le village préhistorique de Quinson présente des reconstitutions fidèles d’habitats anciens et vous révèle grandeur nature l’évolution des modes de vie des hommes préhistoriques.

Les hommes préhistoriques ne vivaient pas que dans des grottes. Vous allez le constater en visitant le village. Sous vos yeux, découvrez à votre rythme les différents habitats représentatifs de la Préhistoire du plus ancien au plus récent. Une immersion dans le passé de plus d'1 million d'années avec :

• le cercle de pierre d'Olduvai en Tanzanie. C'est la plus ancienne structure construite par l'Homme. Elle date de 1,8 million d'années.
• la cabane de Terra Amata à Nice. En forme de hutte, elle a été construite il y a 400 000 ans.
• le tipi de Pincevent, ancien de 15 000 ans.
• la cabane en torchis de Charavines.
• la cabane en pierres sèches de Cambous.
• le dolmen provençal

Ces trois derniers datent du Néolithique (4 000 ans).

Ces habitats ont tous été reconstitués d’après les recherches et les observations menées par les archéologues dans le monde entier.

Ce village fait de reconstitutions d'habitat est gratuit et en accès libre 24/7 mais il est possible de commander une visite guidée (4,5 € par adulte et 4€ par enfant)

Located in the open air on the banks of the Verdon, the prehistoric village of Quinson presents faithful reconstructions of ancient habitats and reveals life-size evolution of the lifestyles of prehistoric men.

Prehistoric men did not live in caves alone. You will see this by visiting the village. Before your eyes, discover at your own pace the various habitats representative of Prehistory from the oldest to the most recent. An immersion in the past of more than 1 million years with:

• the stone circle of Olduvai in Tanzania. It is the oldest structure built by Man. It dates back 1.8 million years.
• the hut of Terra Amata in Nice. In the shape of a hut, it was built 400,000 years ago.
• the Pincevent tipi, 15,000 years old.
• the Charavines mud hut.
• the dry stone hut of Cambous.
• Provençal dolmen

These last three date from the Neolithic (4,000 years).

These habitats have all been reconstructed based on research and observations by archaeologists around the world.

This village made of habitat reconstructions is free and in free access 24/7 but it is possible to order a guided tour (4.5 € per adult and 4 € per child)
