A 40' by 8' square granite obelisk topped by an 18" by 36" by 18" bronze eagle with outspread wings is memorial to the men and women from Berlin, CT who served their country in times of war. The memorial was fabricated by the Fox-Becker Granite Company. The landscape architect was William F. Brooks and the sculptor was Charles Henry Niehaus. The monument was dedicated on November 11, 1920.
A bronze plaque on the east side of the obelisk contains the dedication:
