I found the funeral notice for John Hogg in Trove the National Library of Australia's collection of digitised newspapers. The notice appeared in the South Coast Times and Wollongong Argus on 19 August 1954 & was worded in part:
Seventeen years old John Hogg who was drowned near Adelaide last Sunday, was the son of Mr.and Mrs. Robert Hogg, of Primbee.
