It is part of the Mission Reach Program that built a riverwalk along both sides of the San Antonio River. The project completed in 2013.
Mission Reach connects four of the five Spanish Colonial Missions: Mission Concepcion, Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan and Mission Espada.
