In the historic railway station building with the Prinzbahnhofsdach roofing, the Tourist Information Center Plöner See & DB agency has been located since the acquisition of the building by the city of Plön and subsequent fundamental reconstruction work since mid-2008.
In the 1970s the television series Kleinstadtbahnhof (small town station) was shot here.
