The Civic Centenary Committee had placed this Time Capsule very close to the obelisk that commemorates the announcement of Bathurst, as a "Town" in 1830.

Around the top of the 'circular' wall are many plaques pertaining to the history of Bathurst. Then embedded into the brick pavers is a concrete block, with a cast bronze plaque.

The plaque for the Time Capsule states:

	     TIME CAPSULE
  To commemorate the Civic Centenary year 1985 a
  capsule containing messages from the people of
Bathurst has been buried under this plaque, to be
      raised on the 7th May, 2035 A.D.
