A tall pillar & cross in the churchyard of St Mary's, Hanley Castle.
The base of the pillar is a square block of stone with a list of names of the fallen on two sides, below this is a larger square with a dedication engraved into the front.
Dedication text:-
To the glory of God
and in grateful memory of the men of this parish who gave their lives
for King and Country in the Great War begun in the Year of Our Lord 1914
This ccross raised by their sorrowing parishioners and friends
Remember them oh God and bring them into glory
Through the suffering and death of the Captain of their salvation
