The building is constructed of local stone and Corrigin bricks,the front is rendered and painted a light colour. The arched entry is defined by pilasters and a decorative parapet with the name embossed.
In 1961, Roads Boards throughout the state changed to shire councils and their responsibilities went beyond roads and infrastructure maintenance, to include community facilities and services. In 1963, the Corrigin Shire constructed new premises and the Roads Board office was vacated, since then the building has been a doctor's surgery, museum and a coffee shop among other uses
