These three doors to Cathedral Preparatory School on West 10th Street in Erie, PA have beautiful wood carvings and stone engravings above them. Above the first is a wood carving of two trees and a torch, along with the words "Pro Deo et Patria" (For God and Country). Above this wood carving is an engraving of words from the Pledge of Allegiance. The second door has a wood carving of an eagle and lion, representing the Evangelists, Sts. John and Mark, along with their names in Latin, "Joannes" and "Marc." The stone engraving above this door includes words from the Gospel of St. Matthew. The third door has an engraving of a tree with the word "Scientia." It also has a passage from the Gospel of St. Matthew engraved above it.
