Once a fire house and park, but now just a residence and park facilities available for the use of the 14 that remain living here.

This is the former Olney Fire Department Fire House. In 2000 Olney and Silex merged their fire departments and became the North West Fire District....by 2010 Silex absorbed all the funds, and this house was discontinued.

Today it is a private residence. The grounds are still the Fire House Park...and used by all members of the community

"The Silex and Olney fire departments will also merge to form the Northwest Fire Protection District Supporters wanted to open a $3.2 million justice center by July 1, 2001, when a second associate judge begins work for the county." ~ St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Wednesday April 5, 2000, page 18
