[EN] "The Catholic parish church of Maria Himmelfahrt in Mülheim-Kärlich (Bishopric Trier) was built between 1888 and 1890 after the founding of the parish of Mülheim in July 1887. The architect of the church, which belongs to the dean's office Andernach-Bassenheim, was Caspar Clemens pimples.

Until the foundation of the independent parish, Mülheim belonged to the neighboring community of Kärlich. Worship services in Mülheim held chapels in the Old Chapel from the early 14th century, which in the course of time had become too small for the ever-increasing number of inhabitants. The chapel was to be demolished and replaced by a larger new building. Contrary to this original plan, however, the new church was erected about 150 meters further south on a small hill so that the chapel was preserved.
On 2 May 1891 the Trier bishop Michael Felix Korum consecrated the parish church of Mülheim, which - like the Old Chapel - is dedicated to Mary, the mother of Jesus. The feast day of the patron saint is the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary on 15 August.

The south-facing three-aisled hall church is built in a neo-gothic style and exhibits typical features of the Gothic, including buttresses outside, high pointed arch windows and cross rib vault with ring-shaped keystone, 14.50 meters above the floor. It is 56.5 meters long and 34.5 meters wide. The tower is 60 meters high; Its floor plan is 8 × 8 meters. The masonry consists of lava stones (called croquettes) and is covered with tufts except in the base area. "
