Fanny Mendelssohn (*14 November 1805 in Hamburg – † 14 May 1847 in Berlin), later Fanny [Cäcilie] Mendelssohn Bartholdy and, after her marriage, Fanny Hensel, was a German pianist and composer. She composed over 460 pieces of music. Her compositions include a piano trio and several books of solo piano pieces and songs. A number of her songs were originally published under her brother, Felix Mendelssohn's, name in his opus 8 and 9 collections.

Fanny Mendelssohn war die Enkelin des jüdischen Philosophen Moses Mendelssohn und erhielt ersten Klavierunterricht von ihrer Mutter Lea, geb. Salomon. Wähend der französischen Besetzung Hamburgs erfolgte 1811/12 der Umzug nach Berlin. Dort ließ die Familie ihre Kinder evangelisch taufen und nahm den Zusatznamen Bartholdy an. Im Unterschied zu ihrem Bruder Felix (1809-1847) musste die gleichfalls hochtalentierte Fanny gemäß dem Wunsch ihrer Familie auf eine eigene musikalische Karriere und Veröffentlichungen ihrer Kompositionen weitgehend verzichten.
Erst nach ihrer Heirat mit dem Hofmaler Wilhelm Hensel (1794-1861) im Jahr 1829 trat sie vermehrt in halboffiziellem Rahmen auf.
Ab den 1970er Jahren erfuhren ihre Klavier- und Kammermusikwerke, Kantatenkompositionen und Lieder eine Wiederentdeckung.
