Posted co-ordinates are for the national flag of Canada which flies taller and separate from the other thirteen flags representing the county's provinces and territories. The first row of flags represents the first nine provinces in their order of entry in confederation: Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan and Alberta. The second row includes Newfoundland and Labrador, the Northwest Territories, the Yukon and Nunavut.
That described arrangement of the flags dates from 2017. In recent years, the flags were in different arrangements. The pole for the flag of Canada was donated by the Masonic lodge in 2013.
The flags are located beside Cardinal's war memorial. This war memorial adorns a surviving remnant of wall for a moving railroad bridge which existed from 1919 until the 1950s. The flags are southwest of the intersection of the highway and Bridge Street.
