The Danforth Fountain was dedicated on May 30, 1962. it was erected in honor of Mrs. Helen (Mattice) Danforth who died June 12, 1961. Helen Danfort was a long time champion of development and maintenance of the park.

The painted 8' high, cast iron, fountain has three tiers. Water sprays up from the top and cascades down three successively larger bowls and finally into a large circular decorative ground level basin. The four egrets with their wings partially outstretched decorate the bottom of the base.
