Cyriac Catellier was born in St Gervais Et Protais, Bellechasse, Quebec in 1864. He settled in the St. Malo area of south central Manitoba where he married Felicite Gratton in 1885. He was hired as the district's first school administrator. Between 1886 and 1904 the couple had 10 children.
The monument reads:
