Acording to local lore this stone fell off a star [ref (visit link) ], although this stone has more earthly origins.
The stone, approx. 3ft x 3ft, stands on the village green, under a large chestnut tree, behind the village stocks. Although it appears it might give succour to those being punished in the stocks, it is just a little too close for those of average height, and would probably make the ordeal more uncomfortable.
